Yoga Tap - March 2010

April Events 2

March 26th 2010 10:06
APR 2-5: The Four Pillars of Perfect Practice at Byron Bay Australia
QUOTE: The Four Pillars of Perfect Practice provides the focus and structures to enter deeply into our obscured foundational awareness and to consolidate the impetus to sustain powerful transformative practice. Practice itself is not the key, rather it is what yogis call ‘pure feeling’ that is the fuel and fire that blazes away the impediments that block the opening out of non-dual awareness, the ecstatic state. An inspired practice carries us to the threshold of grace where we are ready to abandon the notional ‘self’ to fall into infinity.

Each of the four days engages a specific orientation derived from classical yoga practice to launch us into ‘unmani’ or the experience beyond the discursive, separative mind state. We will learn how to expand and sustain ‘choice less awareness’ within the format used by finding the feeling potency inherent within it

Standing up...

March 15th 2010 10:15
One of the latest routine changes I have made is to do more of my session standing up. This may just be because despite vacuuming the carpet myself, I recall that it is circa 40 years of age and has never been steam cleaned....

When I have completed my 'starting' section - Savasana, leg raises, wind poses, shoulder stand & bow - I tend to stand up for most of the rest of the routine. I continue - at the moment - with a shortened sun salutation, standing wheel, triangle, then standing head and neck and eye exercises/Pranayama - prior to returning to the floor for Savasana
