Another save by Yoga!

This past week has been extremely active and hectic for me. My father is in hospital, recuperating after a major operation last month. He gets extremely fretful and distressed in the unfamiliar surroundings, without a glimpse of his at-home routine. The hours are different, the faces are different, the lifestyle is different - he feels like you or i would if we woke up on an alien planet...
Firstly, I am grateful to Yoga for keeping me fit enough to handle this. I have a 1-hour walk each way just to visit Dad each day. My being there is one familiar face in a crazy unreal world to him. I have always been a walker, never had a car, but I am not used to having to walk daily, rather than choosing each day if I want to or not.
I would not be eating a healthy diet if I had not started questioning the foods that I eat - and Yoga is one half of the reason I first began to question them. Along with the healthy body from the asanas and pranayam and peace of mind, the diet is a key point to staying healthy for me.
When there, I have to sit on an uncomfy plastic chair in a world of infections, fumes, and other unhealthies. Once again, Yoga comes to my aid. Instead of slumping all day I do a few breathing exercises or practice neck rolls whilst my Dad naps, leaving me solo...
So, once again, Yoga is playing more than a minimal 1/2-hour per day part of my life....
