CLOTHING
December 6th 2010 14:44
Over the years my Yoga session has been done wearing a strange assortment of clothing. It is recommended that you wear loose but not floppy-flappy clothing, but I never seem to have the right sort of clothing lying around – or the time to change in and out of special clothes. I therefore perform my asanas in whatever I am wearing, as a rule.
This usually works out well, as I generally wear casual styled clothing anyway – track pants and tee or jumper sort of thing. In winter, as now, it can be a little difficult for me however. I choose not to use any artificial form of heating – meaning I am generally wrapped up in hats, gloves, furry slippers, and a thick coat. THIS makes Yoga practice very difficult.
One of the ways around this is to remove the coat and place a throw-blanket over me that I can toss off when needs be. Another option is to practice later in the day rather than first thing in the morning. I sometimes wonder if I ought to invest in something more appropriate. I wonder if I will ever wear conventional yoga pants, though.... it is doubtful!
