Ill again….

I have just crawled through 2 colds, a red rash, and a minor flu bug only to walk right into a sinus infection or a second flu attack.
For 1-2 days, I was feeling somewhat sinussy, which is nothing unusual. Then, for 2 days I was absolutely wretched with it. My head was swollen and full and there was a constant drip down my throat causing me to gag and coughing and even vomit. The next 3.5 days I felt dreadful also, though not quite as bad as I had discovered a remedy to keep my throat from getting sore or making me gag/cough - sucking on a piece of raw ginger. After a family outing and 1/2 pint of cider, I began to feel a bit betterand have made a steady recovery in the past couple of days.
Where this ties in to Yoga is how it has affected my practice and how Yoga itself has affected my reaction to being sick.
For four days I did not have the strenght to lift a leg unless it was for a necessity, so Yoga consisted of Savasana and Namaste with attempted pranayama. It is not easy to practice breathing exercises when one's nose and throat are out of order though, as I am sure you can imagine.
Apart from the physical practice however, Yoga continued.... although I could not use my neti pot either. Yoga continued in my ATTITUDE, MEDITATION, and DIET.This is one of the wonderful aspects of Yoga to me - when one area fails, others don't!
