What are the contact details for you?
PH: 0407-495-206
What style(s) of Yoga is/are available?
I teach a dynamic, yet alignment focused, style of Hatha yoga.
What classes are currently running?
I teach corporate yoga, private students, at a yoga studio and in a couple of gyms in the Inner West.
How long have you been offering Yoga practice to the community?
I’ve been teaching for four and a half years now.
On average, how many students practice with you each week?
I probably teach between 50 and 60 students a week, in a wide variety of age ranges, in my various classes.
What features do you offer that others do not?
Because I am trained in NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), every so often during the relaxation I like to do a guided visualization which helps students to let go of whatever is not useful to them anymore. I often see the results in students’ more relaxed and open faces.
Do you offer Yoga instruction in areas other than asana/pranayama?
No.
What is the cost of a series of classes?
In the corporate setting, I ask people to commit to a 10-week series. That way they tend to stay with the practice and get through those first few difficult weeks (particularly if beginners). I charge according to the number of people in the class:
(1) If the company pays: $132 per class (ie. total of $1,320 incl. GST) OR
(2) If individual staff members pay: 8 people = $17 each per class;
9 people = $15 each;
10 people = $13 each;
11 people = $12 each;
12 people=$11 each.
[Costs become cheaper for 13 or more participants].
How long have you been practicing Yoga?
I have had my own regular personal practice for 11 years now. I mostly do straight Hatha yoga, but like to dip into different styles from time to time.
What would you say is the most beneficial aspect of Yoga?
I think that there are many beneficial aspects of yoga. At the physical level, it gets energy/life force flowing through your body, can make you stronger and more flexible, plus it can correct imbalances. In addition, it puts you more in touch with what’s going on in your body. At the mental level, it can help you relax and cope better with the stresses of everyday life. At the spiritual level, I think that yoga helps you to grow and change and get in touch with your true inner self. I suppose the result depends on what the student’s intention is.
Which is your personal favorite asana?
I’m not sure that I can really pinpoint one, but I do like the way that the first few downward facing dog poses in the morning wake up every aspect of your body.
