Other Asana - Crescent moon pose
September 4th 2010 17:18
Start this asana by standing with your feet slightly apart and extending your arms outwards, palms up, horizontally on either side of your body. As you inhale, keeping your arms straight, raise them above your head and point to the ceiling with your index fingers while interlocking the rest.
Keeping your arms beside your ears and straight, tip at the waist to the right as you exhale. Your hips should extend slightly to the left in order to keep your legs and upper torso straight. Hold the pose for between 20 and 60 seconds before returning to the center and repeating the tilt to the left. Finish by lowering your arms as you exhale.
Although this is a simple asana once practiced, it provides adequate opportunity to fine-tune your posture and balance.
