STUDYING YOGA TEXTS
June 16th 2010 16:49
My silence recently has been due to not knowing where to begin. I planned to start writing about studying various texts relative to Yoga, but have yet to decide on which text to start.
The Patanjali Yoga Sutras are a definite and the Vedas are an obvious historical and spiritual/religious source to cover, but there are others and I simply have not yet decided where to begin. (If I cannot decide by this time next week, I will commence on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.)
I have posted a request for suggestions at a few Yoga groups online, but as yet no-one has responded. So it looks like it might be Patanjali’s Y.S.
My intentions are to locate an online source that I can offer a link to, then go through each text in chunks - exploring and pondering as I go - and hopefully offering some pointers, questions, answers, ideas, and queries to fellow Yoga enthusiasts.
