THE ASANAS
I have tried to cover the full range of postures I personally practice, along with other popular moves that I do not regularly indulge in. I have first read descriptions from various online sources, texts, and manuals in order to ensure that I have described each pose in a way that does not favor one 'brand' of Yoga over another. When the Asana is one that I personally use in my routine, I have additionally explained my own attitude and relationship towards it, with any problems or benefits that I have myself encountered.
I aim to build up a large base of described postures for anyone working on a home routine, whether you know your body very well and wish to practice solely at home, whether classes are too expensive for your current personal circumstance, or whether you wish to back up a weekly class with home practice and need a reminder or some general ideas and guidelines to follow.
THE INTERVIEWS
I am attempting to accumulate a collection of interviews in order to establish a reference base for anyone wishing to seek out Yoga tuition, whether you are searching for a weekly class, personal one-on-one instruction, a social base, instruction beyond the basics, advancing from Asana to other areas of Yoga, or just to sample an all-round method for correcting your personal practice. I hope that these interviews will be of interest to those exploring the alternatives available in their own area, as well as people searching for somewhere to begin.
I have begun by approaching several Yoga Centers & other tutors in the USA & Australia, but hope to also establish contact with teachers in other countries over time. I am trying to cover as many different styles of Yoga as possible, in order to offer as much information and choice as I can to anyone seeking the right place and practice, using these interviews as their guide.
THE EVENTS & PRACTITIONERS
I am attempting to inform readers of various local, national and international events that might be of interest.
THE THEORY
I plan to include some information on areas other than Asana & Pranayama, by including a history and reference of Yogic practice, and also covering the philosophy behind a 'complete' practice. I hope to eventually cover a wide range of topics, from Meditation to the Vedas and from neti pots to understanding the Chakras.
