Yoga Styles: Dynamic Yoga

December 3rd 2008 01:49
Dynamic Yoga combines the Ashtanga and Iyengar attitudes of Hatha Yoga. Known as the dynamic yoga training method, dynamic yoga is more a way of learning than a Yogic lifestyle. Based on the three 'main' Yoga areas of Asana, Pranayama and Meditation, it also deals with the bandhas. Emphasis is placed on learning to read your body and not pushing it too far.

Breathing time, stability and calmness are major features and the Asanas are performed in synchronization with the breath. For this purpose, elongation of breath is a practiced learning.

Five aspects are covered in four levels, or stages. These are:

FIVE ASPECTS
*Stillness-Asana
*Movement-Vinyasa
*Integration-Bandha
*Rhythmic breath-Pranayama
*Awareness-Drushti

FOUR LEVELS
* Method
* Dynamic
* Form
* Practice
