Yoga Styles: Nude Aerobics Yoga 2

Nude Yoga can also be called Naked Yoga or Nudist Yoga. However, in some forms it is not simply practicing the Asanas whilst nude. In cases where this is the sole aspect, it is generally referred to as Nude Aerobics Yoga, to distinguish it from other forms of Yoga that are practiced whilst naked.
In the past, many Yoga practitioners lived in the wilderness or forests, and therefore practice was not often done communally. Many of these people did not have clothing, living as ascetics without a regular diet or conventional lifestyle. Various Nude Yoga classes and groups are now springing up around the world, including yoga studios and centers, as well as private clubs and resorts. Sometimes, the Yoga Center may dim the lighting to encourage newcomers to participate, as it can be a very strange or difficult experience if you are not used to nudity.
Naked yoga was first brought into the Western world by the hippies in the 1960s and then transferred its popularity to the realm of gay men in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Although people involved in both such groups still participate, Nude Yoga is becoming more accepted within the world in general. However, its current trend is towards the youth of major cities. Naked Yoga has been popularized by several movies - including the 1968 film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, The Harrad Experiment, and Naked Yoga.
In 2004, attention was directed toward the practice of Nude Yoga by observations of a gentlemen from san Francisco named George Monty Davis, who earned himself the name 'Naked Yoga Guy' due to deciding to perform Yoga poses on Fisherman’s Wharf whilst naked. In more recent times, Midnight Yoga for Men came about in NYC; it was introduced by a leader called Jayadev in 1998. The Yoga practiced was in the original devotional style of Indian Yoga.
