Yoga Styles: Nude Yoga
May 6th 2009 17:32
The other form of Nude Yoga is a far more serious practice. It aims at personal liberation and awareness, and union with the inner divinity. In this form of nude yoga, the nudity is for the purpose of allowing body toxins to escape with ease, in order to purify both the body and soul. It is a meditation-based practice as opposed to Nude Aerobics Yoga, which emphasizes the Asanas.
Nude Yoga works toward a trance to suspend motion leading to internal progression. This form of Nude Yoga stems from the word Nirvana - which can be translated as nakedness, though generally meaning a mental nudity. It is a Tantric form of Yoga sometimes connected with a Yogic practice known as Pundai Yoga. In the US, those interested in joining a group involved with this form of Yoga can contact nirvanasociety@pundai.org for full details.
