The title Samnyâsa Yoga is given to the discipline of renunciation, contrasting with Karma Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita. It can be termed Samnyasa, Sannyāsa, or Sannyasa. twenty-three of the one-hundred and eight Upanishads are relevant to Samnyasa practitioners.

It most oftenly refers to the Tantric sexual union between male and female partners. It may also be known as maithunâ when used in the Tantric format.
