Yoga Styles: Shadanga-Yoga

Shadanga Yoga refers to six-limbed Yoga. It stems from the Maitrayaniya-Upanishad or the Amrita Nada Upanishad from the Krishna Yajur Veda. The ultimate goal of all forms of Shadanga Yoga is liberation.
The basic version incorporates:
*pranayama
*pratyahara
*dhyana
*dharana
*tarka
*samadhi
One version that may also be called Six-limbed Vajra Yoga or the Six Vajra Yogas. This version incorporates similar functions in a differing order:
*pratyahara
*dhyana
*pranayama
*dharana
*anusmriti
*samadhi
Some schools within Buddhism practice the latter form and a similar practice entitled the '6 Doctrines', which consists of:
*inner heat - tummo
*illusory body
*dream state
*luminous clear light
*ejected consciousness
*bardo states
