Yoga Styles: Shadow Yoga
July 13th 2009 16:51
Shadow yoga comes under the Hatha Yoga category and was developed by Zhander Remete. Shadow yoga works with the internal aspects of the body as well as external. The system is based upon original Yoga texts. Principles of Ayurvedic medicine, dance, and martial arts are also taken into account.
Shadow Yoga is now practiced worldwide, and is increasing in popularity. Comprehension of energy principles, attention to three preliminary forms, pranayama, the bandhas, kriyas, mudras, pratyahara, and ujjayi breathing are all parts of Shadow Yoga.
The term shadow is used based on the Sanskrit word chaya, meaning reflection or shadow. It refers to the contemplation of our various layers and their interactions - physical, energy, mentality, wisdom/knowledge, and spirituality.
