The word Tantra translates to mean expansion. A Tantra Yoga practitioner therefore tries to expand all levels of their consciousness, leading to a better awareness of inner divinity. Tantra Yoga emphasizes development of the Chakras. It assists with different states of being, including the waking state, dream state, and sleep state. Tantra Yoga provides a practical way to reprogram the mind. Using Tantra Yoga to refine both thought and emotion, we can create an inner peace and harmony, leading to freedom of the consciousness from former restrictions.
Tantra Yoga involves Asana, Pranayama, contemplation, visualization, ritual cleansing, and mantra repetition. Tantra Yoga is partially a secret principle. You need to obtain knowledge and practice information from Tantric Gurus rather than simply read a book or take a class at the local gym.
Texts used within Tantra Yoga include the Mahanirvana, Jabala Darsana, Trisikha Brahmana, Kularnava, Yoga Kundalini Upanishad of Krishna Yajurveda, and Varaha Upanishad. The Tantra Yoga that works with these Hindu texts is pure; however, in modern times, various versions of Tantra Yoga have sprouted up that are not pure and have become associated more with sexual misconduct than the original principles.
