V34: Another method of retaining calmness is to work with the breath - expressly pausing after exhaling prior to inhaling.
V35: Calm and steady mindedness can also come about from states of higher awareness and concentration on the subtler sense perceptions.
V36: Another method of steadying the mind to calmness is to focus on the pureness within, the inner light that is free from the troubles and sorrows of the outer worldly matters, the ‘inner divinity’.
V37: Yet another method is to become detached from and unmoved by events and environment or to not react when confronted by sense objects arising.
V38: One can also obtain the goal of peace of mind and equanimity through investigating and contemplating that which arises when sleeping or dreaming.
V39: Meditation upon heartening desires is another method one can use.
V40: Starting small, one can master greatness - from atom to magnitude. One can enlarge the ability and awareness to become more constant with retaining purity and stability within.
