Yoga thoughts - 11 - timing

Once again I am considering a change in my daily Yoga session - this time it involves the time I practice. I have been fitting in a session of basics between my 'coffee and compute' and before my 'real' day begins - and topping up by doing various asanas throughout the day.
However, recently I have been thinking about slotting it in either first thing or later in the day. Reasons include preferring to practice before filling up on coffee, having longer before coffee than between coffee and day, and changing the time of my daily meal.
I would like to practice before anything other than a few sips of water go inside me - when I am basically empty. The alternative of a late practice would mean more time without clock-watching, though. In the early morning, I get up just before I have to - in order to prepare my father his early morning cuppa. Yoga first might mean I am less bleary eyed - but also that I might overrun and have dad hollering for his tea. I don't really want to have to clock-watch whilst practicing. A later practice might mean I do not feel like participating in any activity though. Hmmm....
