Yoga thoughts - 14 - food
October 28th 2011 16:51
Since taking up Yoga and Buddhism, my diet has changed dramatically - from that of an omnivore to 99% vegan that tends towards organic. As well as choosing not to harm or frustrate animals, I tend to care more about where my food comes from, how it has been grown and transported, and what has been done to it before it reaches me.
I am learning new Indian recipes, sampling more foods at the health store, as well as perfecting old favorites with vegan versions.
* A friend recently put me onto an Indian cookery line at You Tube - Really Long Link
* The closest health food store has now got a rewards card and does online delivery, making it even better value - Really Long Link
* I have access to vegan supplies of cheese - http://www.redwoodfoods.co.uk/
I have now sampled several items from the online vegan store and discovered that although most will be occasional treats, vegan mozzarella is likely to be purchased each time I buy anything. Now, I can eat pizza again!
Vegan pizza can be just as delicious as ‘normal’ za. I made mine with mushroom and chili and nasturtiums - I forgot the olives!
