Yoga thoughts - 17

One of the facts about Yoga that has been firmly established in my mind this past week is that there is a major difference between doing a proper Yoga session and just bending and stretching. I have had an exceedingly difficult week which would have been unbearable had it not been for my personal strength and beleif - and Yoga practice.
If I simply rolled round on the floor sticking up a leg here and an arm there, it may have made me lose weight, but would have had no effect whatsoever on my health and fitness. The fact that Yoga teaches us to feel the inner energies of the body and not just the skin, bones, and joints helps considerably when the problems that might easily arise if left undealt with are from such as stress and exhaustion. Yoga is especially helpful when some of ones problems involve attacks on the inner energies rather than outer body.
I may have had very little time and energy this past week, but a simple short routine has kept my body alive and moedrately fit - although I am busting for a full on 20-30 minute Yoga session someday to get really fit again! Simple exercises alone would not have the benefits of relaxtion, peace of mind, ease of inner energy, or unification of inner and outer. These all become very important when life becomes a fraction off impossible due to a sudden onslaught of major league family matters.
