My best friend first introduced me to the neti pot several years ago. At first, I ran my own home and was able to use my neti pot at any time of day or night that I chose, but not any longer….
Whilst living in Australia, I always had hot water available. Currently, I live at my dad’s place - and he has overnight storage heating. This heats a single tank of water between 9pm and 7am - and if all this water is used, it has to wait until 9pm to be reheated. This means cold or cool water until the next day.
Therefore, in order to mix a warmish saline solution - and hence use my neti pot - I have to ensure my son has not had a bath and I have not done a few loads of laundry. At times, this can be inconvenient, as I may wish to use it in the evening when there is no more hot water.
I really don’t like pouring cold water through my nose - and Dad is somewhat fanatical about the overuse of heating/water, so I cannot push the boost button to reheat it during the daytime too often. This often means that when I think it might be useful to use my neti pot - I can't do so until the next morning!
